Intermedium frequency(IF) Furnace projects can be different by the difference of material-using targets. 1. for Iron-material heating: For material heating in the preparation of its processing. IF furnace can heat the total material to 1200 C°in a few seconds. 2. For iron-material forging: Not focusing on the melting speed. IF furnace space and power will be designed by the forging sizes and forming time. Usually without high-power. 3. For iron-material continuing casting: Focusing on melting speed with high-power. And with dusting-guard cover. 4. For other metal melting: Reducing oxidation and dust-emission. IF furnace have advantages over traditional ARC furnace: 1.Material-melting efficiency Material is melted by high-temperature arc produced by short circuit between electric nod and material in ARC furnace, but melted from its own heat inside material itself by induction eddy-current from alternating magnetic in IF. High-temperature arc gives rise to the gasification and oxidation of metal elements but eddy current only heats metal inside with average temperature. Statistic shows the efficiency difference is 5%. It means 5% material is wasted in the melting process in ARC furnace. 2. electricity-consumption rate: ARC can’t have high working power because of short circuit working mode, or would shock the public grid and the equipment stability. But IF furnace can have over 3000v. By science the high-voltage and small-current can save electricity a lot. IF furnace can save 50º per T in the comparison with ARC one. 3. Pro-environment: The gasification and oxidation will produce a great deal of smoke and dust from ARC furnace but only 1/3 of smoke and dust can be from IF one. 4. Auxiliary material: ARC furnace needs oxide 50 m3 and 4 kg carbon to produce one ton iron but IF needs nothing. 5. Grid pollution ARC will produce a great flicking to the grid but IF works steadily. By tendency, ARC furnace will be replaced by IF one though it has been used for long in the world. Our IF furnace, with high-power and big-space, can reach 20000 kw/50T, leads Chinese technology nowadays. Its electricity consumption rate has been reduced to 510º/T from 800º/T but production has been increased to 30T/hour.
